really play conservatively except for the last couple (maybe 3) possessions but it was the right thing to do at that time. The rest of half, if wasn't the offense playing conservatively. It was execution. Retzlaff was something like 13/17. Then he went something like 4/14 to end the game. That includes multiple drops which should have been caught period and others that Jake made it a little hard.
The other part of the offensive woes was a need for a bit more creativity. I think we were two predictable on 2nd and long--seemed like it was always a running play up the middle-the whole game, not just when we were up big. We needed a little more creativity on 2nd down--like that screen play--or Retzlaff on the option. When was the lateral/pass play? Was that on 2nd down--there's some creativity for sure.
Not having Connor in the middle of the line was also huge.
The fake punt was beautiful--maybe the difference in us winning the game.
