and what does USU give you over Wyo, UNR, UNM, or SJSU?
OK maybe UNR wants to stay with UNLV, but Wyo or UNM gives you at least the flagship schools for those states. USU is #3 in a small state. SJSU is no less of a nothing than USU, but it is at least located in a big metro and has built-in rivalries with Fresno and SDSU. USU brings no rivalries. Anyway, I was just totally shocked by that. I'm guessing there's a behind the scenes nepotism or friend thing going on among presidents or ADs, as often is the case with realignment head-scratchers.
