I said it was not so great because they bring a toxic, negative element (as it relates to BYU) into the B12. I like the idea of being in a conference where we have opponents but overall good will and spirited competition. I've always maintained it is easier to make friends than maintain an enemy.

My bro says that everyone needs a rival; a nemesis to act as that carrot to drive a progam to succeed. Without a rival no championship is truly as satisfying.

That doesn't mean that I don't get satisfaction out of the utes losing, especially to BYU; but I have really enjoyed being in a conference where BYU is liked better and hated less. Perhaps that would go away if BYU ever dominated like they did the WAC and MWC.
