Need to stain our fence before the rain/winter comes.

Don't necessarily need any color in the stain, just mainly something to protect it from weather and decay. Any suggestions?

I was seeing about $50 bucks a gallon. Is that a good price? Supposedly that one was good because it protected against UV rays as well. I'm new to this homeowner businesses and have no idea what i'm doing half of the time.

Any tips/recommendations here would be greatly appreciated!
