Skeptical Optimist Intervention Needed
Looking at the drive summaries, BYU didn't have a problem sustaining drives
but they did have a lot of short fields which helped a lot.

Drive Summary
Kansas State
12 plays, 53 yards, 5:49, Field Goal
16 plays, 87 yards, 8:09, Field Goal
3 plays, 5 yards, 1:02, Fumble (returned for TD)
2 plays, 0 yards, 0:11, Interception
1 play (end of half)
3 plays, 1 yard, 1:00, Interception
3 plays, 8 yards, 2:16, Punt (returned for TD)
12 plays, 64 yards, 5:33, Field Goal (should have been a turnover on downs if the replay was correct)
6 plays, 25 yards, 1:57, Downs
9 plays, 43 yards, 3:13, Downs
8 plays, 44 yards, 3:15, Downs

BYU
3 plays, 3 yards, 1:10, Punt
10 plays, 41 yards, 5:49, Punt
13 plays, 62 yards, 6:57, Field Goal
2 plays, 29 yards, 0:28, Touchdown
2 plays, 27 yards, 0:59, Touchdown
5 plays, 17 yards, 2:51, Punt
6 plays, 38 yards, 3:22, Touchdown
4 plays, 10 yards, 3:08, Punt
4 plays, 9 yards, end of game

So both teams had only one 3-and-out. BYU did have more punts, but that's probably because KSU was going for it on 4th down most of the 2nd half.

KSU had 3 sustained drives that resulted in FGs. BYU had 2 sustained drives with only 1 that resulted in a FG. The rest of our drives were short field drives that resulted in TDs, or longer drives that sputtered. We did have a 4 play drive late in the 4th quarter, but the game was already over and we were playing conservative.

But that 4 drive sequence for KSU starting late in the 2nd was absolutely brutal. I don't think I remember a game that completely changed so much so quickly.
