1. Have not seen a lot of Ethan Slade and Talan Alfrey at Safety. Younger, more talented guys like Raider Damuni, Tommy Prassas, and Faletau Satuala are getting their snaps. As the talent improves guys who once started no longer see the field.

2. Third-string Right Guard Bruce Mitchell starts and plays decent. Not sure what has happened to Sonny Makasini and Austin Leausa - perhaps they’re both injured? When Bruce was moved from DL to OL I thought he was on his way out of the program, but it looks like he’s here to stay.

3. Highly-touted Ice Moa was a DE in high school but the common consensus was he was going to bulk up and move inside to DT. Now he’s been moved to Linebacker, is playing, and actually making plays? Very unexpected.

4. Sione Moa. No, the other one. Where did he come from? He graduated high school four years ago. What has he been doing since (besides a mission)? Has rarely (never?) been talked about before this past July. A very pleasant surprise.
