A comprehensive review (for me of WDW)- & some comparing to DCA
Transportation-
We Uber:d about 120 round trip for 4-6 people. Disney buses are cheaper but IMO not worth the hassle and the bonus of getting directly to your hotel.

Getting from park to park no matter where you stay if your on property is never ideal. Yes there is a few resorts that have direct (cool access - with a tram/or sky-liner) access to two of the 4 parks. But I compare this to DCA & you can’t compete. Where DCA is all within reasonable walking distance across the entire park.

Hotels- WDW- we’ve only stayed in a few- Grand Floridian, Camp Wiliderness, One Value Resort, and this time Riverside. Theming is cool- prices are almost always crazy. Many stay off property and it’s cheaper but you lose early access which is key to enjoying the parks. The parks are very overpriced for the value but they are still fun and can be immersive. Personally I prefer DCA again. The prices aren’t better- maybe worse but you have reasonable options right across the street.

Staff- I’m shocked to say this but WDW staff was so much improved and having been to both parks close together WDW employees were much more enjoyable and kind. That is a complete flip of previous experiences at the parks.

Last comment is consistent for having a good trip. Go early- stay late- spend a few hours in hot afternoon at the hotel. To go early you have to stay at WDW properties because you get in 30-60 minutes before- you can get 3-4 rides in at a park. The good rides, and the rest of the day you can filter in rides and attractions.
