Schwabacher Landing is about a 40 minute drive from my house. You don't get a good feel if the full Tetons will be visible until you get on the north side of Jackson. I saw the forecast indicated clear skies, and there was a cool fog laying in the valley so I decided to make the trip. There's a 20 minute period during sunrise when the mountains are pink before they go to a deep blue gray. If there's clouds in the skies, you can get some great shots. Today I was about 10 minutes late to get where I wanted to be and there was a cloud enveloping the Grand that just never left...oh well. Thank goodness the sun comes up every day!
