My 13 y/o needs shoulder surgery to repair torn labrum. So frustrating as it ends his 7th grade year of tackle football.
Doubly frustrating as it happened on what was EASILY his own personal best play he's ever made: QB sack for a safety! (He's an X-man plays D and O line.)

ANYWAY, after talking with pediatric orthopedists and surgeons, we're 99.9% sure surgery is the way to go. Sounds like it's best to reduce the chances he has issues with it in the future.

In addition to the surgeon recommendations (in UT and we're considering Jorgensen, Allen) — anybody have suggestions on important things we need to keep in mind to make this as successful as possible?
