She's a freshman this year, and this evening is the high school's "New Faces" theater presentation. Basically a bunch of one-scene acts, usually just between two kids, for any students who haven't been in plays at the high school, so mostly freshman, and any elderclassmen interested in giving it a try.
She lit up the freaking stage. Hard to be an objective parent, but, as objectively as I can be, I can truly say she was the best, most believable, natural and energetic performer of the night. Because it's so early in the school year, most of the kids still have cheat sheets, totally cool. My girl nailed every line without so much as a scrap of script. And every time her scene partner blanked, without missing a beat she immediately ad libbed a cue to help her that was so natural it could easily have been a line in the script.
Okay, enough bragging. But, it's so wonderful to see your children blossom.
(And yeah, nice that the game doesn't start till 9. 😄)
