I've been in Austin a few times recently. From what local relatives and several others in the tech industry I talked to are saying there have been a lot of layoffs. I didn't verify any of it but they also said some tech companies plan to move out of Austin because of high costs there.

Austin attracted a lot of tech companies not long ago and there were lots of jobs in the tech industry. Now things have apparently turned around with thousands of jobs lost. Since Austin is where the liberals reside in Texas what the democrats are doing is hurting their own supporters.
