So I'm half Wyomingite and don't understand the strange spirit infesting Laramie
My ancestors settled in the Big Horn Basin and my mother was nurtured and raised to be a great human being in Cody along with many siblings. She graduated from BYU along with all her siblings and then moved to Orem, where she tutored her 8 kids in the ways of BYU.

Her siblings, in part, stayed in Wyoming. In particular, my aunt Jan met (at BYU) and married Uncle Jim (from Laramie) in the SLC temple. He got his MBA, they moved to Laramie and started a big concrete company that made a lot of money, where he was a counselor in a Stake. He treated me to a couple of BYU's holiday bowls, and loved to support BYU and wear their gear down in Provo.

HOWEVER...when BYU would come there to play in Laramie and we'd stay with them and go to the game, Uncle Jim and my aunt Jan would don the mustard and feces and get out there in the stands with their construction clients and employees and company advertising, and gleefully raise Cain along with the other locals, not joining in the drinking of course, but being a participant in all the rest of the unholy scene and profane chants, and then go to church like all was well the next day. We haven't been there in 15 years, maybe it has changed.

My mother was aghast at her sister, and expressed her concerns, but my Aunt and Uncle said it was a way to support their community, and they needed to be all in with the Cowboys or their business would suffer, and it was all just for fun, Wyoming fans really didn't mean anything by it, the fans just loved to try and get our goat, don't take it to serious.

Jim and Jan have passed on, but I wasn't convinced, watching the whole cabal in person, then and now I'm still sure:
