My daughter (8) is doing cheer this year. Her program works with the local HS and she does cheerleading at the games for the elementary school football program.
So I’m at the game for the 2nd grade team, watching my daughter do her routines, and watching these 2nd grade boys play. I know none of the kids and have no connection to any of them, yet I’m drawn into this game and cheering for them with all of their parents. Why? Because it’s football.
When a 7 year old kid throws a perfect spiral 20 yards away and the TE catches it and runs over the defender and drags another kid into the endzone, it’s a pretty fun thing to watch. Football is football. And it’s fun.
