Ordered a Diet Dr Pepper at Wendy's and it didn't taste like a Dr Pepper soda, but also not like a cola or root beer.
It had a big hit of fruit taste I couldn't put my finger on.
When I looked at Wendy's menu online I saw my store has HC Fruit Punch and that was it.
They gave me a Diet Dr Pepper mixed with HC Fruit Punch.
I enjoyed the mystery of trying to figure it out, but wouldn't recommend since the HC FP flavor over rode the DDP.

does Wendy's use Freestyle drink machines? those never seem to taste right due to its system of all sodas out one spigot
