He admits BYU is by far the best football choice, but his explanation as to why they should nevertheless not be added is neither supported by evidence nor logical. Take his "private school voting block" notion, for example. No evidence whatsoever that Baylor, TCU and BYU would vote together on any meaningful issue by virtue of their status as non-public universities. He claims "moral" grounds, but neglects to mention that TCU no longer identifies as christian. He also fails to consider that, by all accounts, TCU opposes adding BYU currently.
Similarly, his recitation of why BYU is not currently in a conference is just ... wrong. Factually incorrect. BYU wanted in a P5 conference, but was rejected. Independence was a better choice than the blood-sucking MWC. BYU has always said that independence is a short-term option with P5 conference affiliation being the end goal. Even the most minimal of research would have showed this.
