What BSU fans don’t get (and why they hate us), is that we are not in awe of ...
... their team or program to the same degree the other teams they dominate are. We’ve been where they think they are, and aren’t so sure they deserve it. They play at most one P5 team a year. While other teams get psyched out by their “mystique,” we tend to look at them as a step down from all the P5 teams we play.
As a result, we tend to play loose, while they are tight and turnover prone. They seem frustrated when we don’t just roll over for them like many MWC teams do. I wish we had this same healthy attitude when we play Utah.
Although we have not beaten BSU as often as we should have, and have had too many bad breaks at the end in Boise, our games have almost always been competitive. Once we break through and finally beat them in Boise, the flood gates will open and they will probably try to get out of the series.
